Information about Fiona
I have over 25 years of experience of teaching Science at both GCSE and A level Biology and have experience of all exam boards and up to date knowledge of the requirements of the new specifications. I specialise in teaching GCSE and A level. I am also an assistant examiner for OCR A level Biology, marking A Level exam papers each Summer.
I have much experience of private tuition at both GCSE and A level. The first session will involve assessing the needs of the individual. This enables me to design bespoke teaching and learning strategies tailored to the students requirements. As a consequence students build their confidence in their knowledge and ability to apply their knowledge to exam questions This has a positive impact on their outcomes in the final exam. I use a variety of teaching and learning methods to ensure that students get the most out of these sessions.
I am passionate about my subject and students feel that this enthusiasm enables them to appreciate how topics link together and how concepts relate to everyday contexts.

Fiona is an excellent Science tutor, very friendly, and he put my daughter at ease right from the beginning. Fiona is very organised and focused and can explain Science to my daughter in a way she can individually relate to and understand. My Wife and I are very happy with the progress she has made with Fiona which is reflected in her school results.

Fiona has been an incredible help to my daughter throughout her A level biology, before lockdown and during lockdown across Skype. As a teacher herself, she knows the exam syllabus and what is expected from students regarding their answers. She has been able to tutor my daughter through areas she found more difficult, she pre-plans each session as well as sent her information for her to print so that they could make the most of each tutor session.
