Ishika

Hi! My name is Ishika and I`m a Medicine undergraduate at the University of Cambridge. I`m offering help with GCSE and A-level Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics. I`m also willing to offer help with Medicine UCAS applications (i.e. entrance exams, personal statements and interview prep). I have prior experience in both GCSE and A-level science and maths tutoring, tutoring for BMAT/UCAT entrance exam preparation, personal statement checks in a range of subjects and interview preparation for Medicine applications.

A-Levels:
I achieved A*A*A*A* in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics (originally predicted 5 A*s before dropping Further Maths). I studied at the Henrietta Barnett School from Year 7 - 13.

UCAS:
I achieved 2900, band 1 in my UCAT and 13.6 in my BMAT; I received offers from Cambridge, Imperial and UCL for Medicine, and had an interview from Kings.

I take a logical approach to teaching - I ensure the fundamental knowledge is stable before building upon these concepts and teaching advanced topics. I use PowerPoint slides, interactive whiteboards and quick quizzes to interact with the student. This ensures the student is kept engaged and the knowledge is retained. I also use past paper questions and mark schemes, as they are vital to success at GCSE and A-levels. However, I am a versatile tutor and adjust my teaching style to each individual student.

Experience: I have previously tutored numerous students from top grammar schools in the UK, including the Henrietta Barnett School, Queen Elizabeth`s Grammar School and Sutton Grammar School. Previous tutoring experience I have includes:

- Running a revision crash course for GCSE chemistry students

- Checking and giving feedback on numerous personal statements for UCAS applications in multiple subjects, and these students received multiple interviews and offers from top UK universities
- Running UCAT/BMAT advice sessions, and tutoring to help with preparation for these exams, with students achieving over 3100
- Running mock Medicine interviews and helping with preparation for interviews at any UK Medical School
