Hi there!

I received a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with First Class honours from University College London, and am currently studying Medicine at Barts and the London School of Medicine. Teaching is something that I have always been interested in, therefore I love any opportunity to become a part of a student`s learning.

Experience: I tutor Biology to university, A-level, IB-level and GCSE students. I also tutor General Sciences, Maths and English to KS1, KS2, KS3 and GCSE students. I am fluent in Mandarin and give lessons to beginner and intermediate speakers. I assist high school students with composing their personal statements for UCAS university applications, and have helped organise work experience placements which serve to enhance such university applications. All of my students have gained admission into leading Russel Group universities.

I have over 6 years of experience working as a private tutor. I have worked with a diverse range of students from all educational levels and cultural backgrounds. As a tutor, I create a teaching environment that is comfortable, engaging, and encouraging. I take the time to understand each of my students’ strengths and weaknesses so that I am able to teach in a way that is most beneficial to them. My lessons provide students with the perfect opportunity to ask questions that may have been missed in a class environment. I am able to breakdown difficult concepts into manageable chunks of information, making learning a less daunting task for my students.

I am familiar with the syllabi of the various exam boards that I teach. In my lessons, I ensure that that not only is all content sufficiently covered, but also that new material is taught in a way that builds on old material. To overcome what I call “exam anxiety”, I categorise past paper questions by topic, and complete these questions with my students as we progress through the content of the syllabus. I have found this to be the most efficient method of preparation to maximise marks on exams. I have witnessed my students improve greatly, many developing a real passion for some of the subjects that I teach.

Having gone through the university application process twice myself, I understand how challenging it can be to juggle academic work, extra-curricular activities, and university applications. I hope to use my first-hand experience and dedication to teaching to help students manoeuvre their way through this stressful process.
