Information about Claire
I have a 2:1 BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Its Learning through The Open University.
I offer tuition in mathematics, biology and English language from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4. I specialise in helping my students to gain confidence as most students who are struggling lack confidence, not ability. I have a very relaxed and patient approach to tuition and take things at the student`s pace, allowing them as much time as they need to work on any area which they find difficult.
I love tutoring and would not consider any other job as I really enjoy seeing my students gain confidence and begin to enjoy subjects which they used to dread.
I teach a range of subjects to GCSE level, which parents have commented is very helpful as they only need to find one tutor to cover all core subjects.
I also tutor exam technique for all of the above subjects. This is one of the reasons that my students frequently achieve excellent exam results.
If you have any questions, please contact me through Tutorhunt. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for viewing my profile.

Availability: Monday to Friday from 4.30 pm.
Unfortunately, I do not expect to have any vacancies until January 2022 as I am applying for my PGCE and need to reduce my student numbers.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: Year 6 students have received offers of places at local independent and grammar schools, often being offered academic scholarships because of high marks in entrance exams. GCSE students have received offers of places at good local sixth forms and colleges to study A Levels and BTEC Level 3 courses. A number of students have taken up apprenticeships.
All students who sat their mathematics GCSEs in June 2016 received a grade C or above.
All students who sat their mathematics GCSEs in June 2017 and 2018 received at least a Grade 5.
2019 students achieved Grade 4 to 5 in GCSE English Language and Grade 4 to 6 in GCSE mathematics. While not all students received a 4, all achieved at least a Grade 3 and showed an improvement of at least two grades over the course of Year 11
2019 was the first year of the reformed A Level in mathematics. My student achieved an A and will be studying biomedical sciences at Sheffield University.
I have been tutoring since August 2014 and my students have gained in confidence and made progress at school. I receive positive feedback from students, parents and schools and the experience that I gained while tutoring in college has proven invaluable.
From September 2019 I will be working as a cover supervisor in local secondary schools in order to gain further experience of working with young people.
