Hi, I`m Sarah!

I`m a qualified Secondary Maths teacher and tutor with over 21 years of experience working in a range of educational settings, including mainstream secondary schools and special schools. I studied Mathematics at both Southampton and Chichester Universities and have taught students of all abilities and backgrounds.

Whether you`re aiming to boost your confidence, improve your grades, or prepare for your GCSE exams, I`m here to help. I have extensive experience teaching the GCSE Maths curriculum and a strong understanding of the current 1–9 grading system, including the problem-solving and reasoning skills that are such an important part of today`s exams.

My lessons are tailored to each individual student. I believe that learning works best when students are actively involved, so sessions are designed around your needs, helping you tackle difficult topics, address misconceptions, and build a deeper understanding of maths at your own pace.

One of my main goals is to help students become confident mathematicians. Success in maths isn`t just about memorising methods—it`s about understanding when and how to apply them. That`s why I focus on building strong foundations, developing confidence, and practising skills through engaging problem-solving activities and real exam-style questions.

I strive to create a friendly, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress. With patience, encouragement, and clear explanations, I`ll help you develop the skills and confidence needed to achieve your goals.

I break topics down into manageable, bite-sized steps, helping students build understanding, improve recall, and develop confidence in applying their mathematical skills. Together, we`ll identify areas for improvement and create a personalised learning plan designed around your goals, needs, and preferred way of learning.
