Information about Hannah
I have been teaching for 8 years now and currently work in an inner London secondary school. I trained In Secondary English & Drama Education at UCL Institute of Education. Throughout my teaching career I have obtained the roles of Literacy Coordinator, Key Stage 3 English Lead, and Lead Teacher. I am a dyanamic practitioner, and able to teach across all key stages and abilities.
To ensure best outcomes for students, I consistently use a variety of teaching strategies when approaching different texts and skills; such as: shared writing, model writing, games and quizzes. I set regular homework and mark this in detail; I will often expect students to make improvements based on my marking, enabling me to see what they have understood and further developed.
I am an outstanding practitioner, who is organised, reliable and punctual. Aside from this, I am highly approachable and always willing to go the extra mile to support all of my students. I have high expectations of all students. I enjoy building a rapport with students and getting to know them and their interests. I believe in creating a warm and nurturing environment for students so they can build their confidence and excel.

Experience: I am a highly skilled and dedicated teacher. I have taught across all key stages and abilities, and in a variety of different settings (middle schools, grammar school and I currently work at an inner-city London school). I regularly attend CPD, and update my knowledge of the curriculum and teaching strategies.
The results of my students are excellent. I currently teach the AQA English GCSE specification and the Edexcel English Literature A-Level specification. I am able and willing to teach other exam boards, too.
Whilst I am a qualified Secondary English Teacher, I have knowledge of the key stage 1 and 2 curriculum. I am trained in Phonics and have spent adequate time in primary schools across London, observing the curriculum.
I have also worked as a GCSE examiner for AQA for the past 4 years, which gives me better insight into how to achieve best outcomes for students.

Firstly, I want to tell you that I am not one of those people who writes reviews, yet here I am. My daughter started her tuition with Hannah in April 2022.To give a bit of context, my daughter was in year 10 at the time with predicted grade 4 in English Language and Literature, after 7 months with Hannah, she is now predicted grade 8 (Stands for Hannah`s teaching skills). We still have a few months before GCSEs, and I have full faith that Hannah will take her to grade 9. As a parent of 14- and 15-year-olds, I understand the pressure parents feel finding the right tutor, as I have been through it. I went through numerous websites, looking for tutors for 3 different subjects and it was a mammoth task, but when we found Hannah through Tutor Hunt, it was all worth it. My daughter clicked with her right from the 1st lesson and came out smiling. Hannah is highly professional, punctual and knows her subject inside out. She gave confidence to my daughter and went through techniques of approaching different types of questions in Language and Literature papers. Hannah sets homework every week and marks it thoroughly, this enabled my daughter to understand where she was going wrong. My daughter`s teachers in school and classmates have all remarked on her phenomenal improvement. As soon as my daughter has done her GCSEs, I will be requesting Hannah to tutor my son. I highly recommend (cannot emphasise enough) Hannah as a tutor for English Language and Literature. I cannot believe how lucky we are to have found her.
