I have been teaching for 8 years now and currently work in an inner London secondary school. I trained In Secondary English & Drama Education at UCL Institute of Education. Throughout my teaching career I have obtained the roles of Literacy Coordinator, Key Stage 3 English Lead, and Lead Teacher. I am a dyanamic practitioner, and able to teach across all key stages and abilities.

To ensure best outcomes for students, I consistently use a variety of teaching strategies when approaching different texts and skills; such as: shared writing, model writing, games and quizzes. I set regular homework and mark this in detail; I will often expect students to make improvements based on my marking, enabling me to see what they have understood and further developed.

I am an outstanding practitioner, who is organised, reliable and punctual. Aside from this, I am highly approachable and always willing to go the extra mile to support all of my students. I have high expectations of all students. I enjoy building a rapport with students and getting to know them and their interests. I believe in creating a warm and nurturing environment for students so they can build their confidence and excel.

Experience: I am a highly skilled and dedicated teacher. I have taught across all key stages and abilities, and in a variety of different settings (middle schools, grammar school and I currently work at an inner-city London school). I regularly attend CPD, and update my knowledge of the curriculum and teaching strategies.
The results of my students are excellent. I currently teach the AQA English GCSE specification and the Edexcel English Literature A-Level specification. I am able and willing to teach other exam boards, too.
Whilst I am a qualified Secondary English Teacher, I have knowledge of the key stage 1 and 2 curriculum. I am trained in Phonics and have spent adequate time in primary schools across London, observing the curriculum.
I have also worked as a GCSE examiner for AQA for the past 4 years, which gives me better insight into how to achieve best outcomes for students.
