I have recently completed my PGCE in performing arts and worked within education and youth services for 5 years. I have also worked as a teaching assistant offering both general and 1 to 1 support in and out of the classroom.

Experience: Recently, I have taught at a large secondary school in Salford teaching drama, English, maths and history.

I have worked for various supply agencies and done both SEN and mainstream but my main focus with these agencies was SEN and I have worked with young people with a variety of needs from dyslexia, ADHD, ASD, Down’s syndrome, learning difficulties, cerebral palsy and behavioural, social and emotional needs.

I am a very creative person and teacher and this reflects in my teaching ethos as I believe every mind works differently and I can adapt to each young person using specific and directed teaching and learning techniques. This approach reflects in my strong rapport and compassion for students’ wellbeing and needs. Being artistic leads to dynamic and interesting lessons which students engage well with.

Outside of the classroom I attend dance classes in tap, ballet and contemporary dance and I have been doing this since 2019. I am also part of an amateur dramatics society but due to the pandemic I have not been able to go. I believe having these creative hobbies will benefit my tutoring as I can assist with dance/drama specific queries if this is needed. I also have horse riding lessons and I am currently loaning a horse, I am not afraid of hard work and like spending time outdoors as well as socialising with family and friends.
