Information about William
Hi, my name is Will. I have recently graduated with a Masters with Merit in Biological Sciences from the University of Manchester. During my studies, I balanced a challenging academic routine with tutoring, mentoring and public engagement events. This has given me an excellent perspective on learning at every level of ability .
Before studying at Manchester, I undertook my IGCSEs and A-levels at Westminster School in London, achieving high grades in all subjects. This gives me a vital insight into both exam technique and the difficulties faced during the school year.
I offer flexible lessons suited to each individual student. Lessons can take the form of short term preparation for a specific goal or longer term educational support during the school year. Academic success is as much a matter of confidence as it is a matter of knowledge, and my lessons focus heavily on developing both aspects.
I believe that it is impossible to excel academically without a sense curiosity and wonder in the subject matter, and I pride myself on inspiring this in my students.
Please see my LinkedIn for further details.
Availability: I am available on weekday evenings and weekends, subject to availability. Please let me know 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel.
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: Over the past year I have tutored several students in maths and science at Key Stage 2, 3 and GCSE. During my time as a mentor at Manchester, I was responsible for tutoring undergraduate and A-level students in biology. As a STEM ambassador I have run several public engagement events at the Manchester Museum and local primary schools.
