Glain

Glain won the Texaco Young Musician of Wales, and was a string finalist in the BBC Young Musician and Royal Over-Seas League competitions. She has won the 4th Rencontres Internationales de la Harpe en Ile-de-France and the Bryn Terfel Scholarship. A regular winner at the National and Urdd Eisteddfodau in Wales, she came second in the Moscow International Harp Competition (junior category) and was awarded the `City of Szeged` prize at the Szeged International Harp Competition, Hungary in 2016.

Having been a member of the National Children’s Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra GB, Glain has toured with Sinfonia Cymru and appeared as a guest soloist with the European un ion Chamber Orchestra. She also toured the US as a guest harpist with the Penrhyn Male Voice Choir.

She has won numerous scholarships including the Nansi Richards Scholarship, the Martin Musical Scholarship Fund, and has been supported by the Arts Council of Wales and the Welsh Livery Guild.

Having studied at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris where she gained the `Diplome Supérieur d`Exécution`, she later graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, gaining a Master of Arts with distinction. She has four grade 8 qualifications (harp piano theory general musicianship) and has a DipABRSM in Harp Performance (distinction).

She is co-founder and co-director of Hampstead Harp Class, where students are offered harp ensemble, chamber music, harp maintenance, masterclasses and solo classes.

Experience: Glain has been a teacher for 10 years, teaching pupils of all ages and levels. She has also worked as a teacher for `Melocad Acadomia`, a french agency for private lessons.
