Hi, my name is Umran. I am holding German Abitur and I got my Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Bogazici University and my Master of Science degree in Mathematics from Galatasaray University. Both Universities are in Istanbul and have very good reputations in Turkey. Both of my undergraduate and master programmes are conducted 100% in English. In the frame of the exchange program "Erasmus+ Mobility Programm";I have worked as an intern education consultant in the UK and audited Mathematics courses at The Universityof Warwick.

Experience: I believe that I am well qualified for this job as I am awarded with the Pedagogical Formation Certificate which is needed to be a teacher in Turkey. In the frame of this certificate program, I took teaching-relevant courses such as Psychology of Education, Special teaching methods etc and worked as an intern teacher in a high school. There, I had the opportunity to observe the teachers and day-to-day life in a high school. Additionally, I gained experience in teaching, exam-invigilating and grading. I learned how to prepare a lesson plan for a particular target audience and experienced to implement this plan during the lesson.
My interest in teaching stimulated me to have role as teaching assistant for undergraduate students while I was a M. Sc. student. As part of this, I had to liaise with the professors/lecturers; with their guidance I was doing regular problem session hours; giving a brief summary of the lectures and working together with undergraduate students to solve problems, which has improved my mathematical reasoning and enhanced my capability to perceive a subject deeply and convey it briefly to other students.
Moreover, I worked voluntarily as the Mathematics Teacher for elementary school students in Summer 2016. We valued the summer break time which lasts three months in the region; reviewed the topics of the former semester and made preparations for the upcoming semester.
I have been living in the UK for three years and I have been tutoring privately since then. My students are from different year groups; GCSE, A-level, 11+ etc. All of my students got higher grades than expected with my support. I make use the different styles in teaching such as using audio and visual resources; thus tailoring my lesson plan to the special needs of the target group.
