I have worked in an outstanding school and then later in a highly motivated Grammar School in Tunbridge Wells. My latest position was as an Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for whole school teaching and learning, and for 6th form provision. This included support for UCAS personal statements and careers advice. I have continually been commended for my outstanding professionalism which has always placed the student at the forefront of my efforts. I have consistently achieved results in the top 10% of all schools in the country. I have a detailed knowledge of the skills and motivational methods that are needed to enable each student to attain their very best result. I am passionate about education.

Experience: I have over 20 years` experience teaching History for Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level. The A Level units that I have taught are Russia 1917 - 1991, The German Democratic Republic 1945 - 1991, The Cold War, Appeasement, Mao`s China, Tutor Rebellions and The Tudors and I have successfully taught the coursework units at A Level with the content focus on Appeasement and The Vietnamese War. I am very knowledgeable regarding the skills and support required for the coursework (NEA) and have a deep knowledge for all A Level skill requirements. At GCSE I have taught Weimar and Nazi Germany 1917 - 1939, The Cold War (Superpower Relations), Crime and Punishment, Anglo Saxons, The American West, Vietnam, Dunkirk, Elizabeth 1st, and 20th century conflicts (WW1, WW2 and The Korean War). I have worked as an examiner and have Advanced Skills Teacher Accreditation. I have wide experience working with the major exam boards.
