A thirst for knowledge and understanding the world of science led me to complete an under-graduate honours degree in Microbiology and a post graduate in foods safety and control.
I now want to pass on that thrist for knowledge and understanding to students.
I strive to engage, challenge and inspire growth in all students. I stringly believe that every student is capable of tasting the thrist I feel for learning by becoming actively involved in the learning through fun, research and practice.
I engage my students in the study of learning by crafting stories that draw them deep into the learning experience. Once students are hooked they find themselves seeking the need for the concepts and problems they are faced with.
I have been tutoring for four years now and love that moment when the student clicks and under-stands.
I am very confident in my tutoring / teaching as I have numerous methods which I adapt to de-pending upon the level of abilities in my students. I prioritize on student`s weaknesses and explain key concepts in a way which they understand. In addition, I ensure that the student understands the basic fundamentals of science and put the "fun" element back into science.
Furthermore, I strongly believe past paper practice is a fundamental requiremental to ensure students experiences exam environments and get familiar with the format of questions. I have seen a dramatic improvement in my student`s performance improving from E to A grades or grade 4 to grade 8.
In addition, I give weekly homework to my students to ensure learning during the lesson is not for-gotten and is reinforced. Regular assessment and review of topics covered previously helps to ensure progress is being made.
Finally, I have a proven track record of enabling pupils secure a place at their chosen school and achieve a high grade at GCSE and key stage level 3. I achieve this by focusing on the students weaknesses and explain key concepts and techniques in a way which they understand. Each session is tailored to meet the needs of each individual student.
