A classroom should be a place where pupils can feel secure and supported. Pupils respond more readily to encouragement, appreciation and enthusiasm rather than continual correction and condemnation. I always strive to create a positive atmosphere within the classroom as it gives the pupils the opportunity to fully embrace and enjoy the Sciences. I have carried this educational ethos with me since starting teaching, and my pastoral work over the past five years has further cemented my belief that in order to thrive at school a pupil has to feel both valued and, more importantly, is able to value themselves.

Experience: I have Taught for nearly 15 years I am passionate about my principal subject, Biology, as it provides us with an understanding of the world around us. From the development of the microscope in the 1600`s and the consequential understanding of cellular Biology, to stem cell research and forensic science in current affairs, there is something here for everyone. Science is incredibly relevant and has the potential to inspire us all. I have experience teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Key stage 2 and 3, and teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics at GCSE. I have also Taught PE to A level.
