Information about Hema

Personal Descri ption:
I have passed with 10 GCSE`s and 3 A-Levels including Drama and Theatre Studies, Sociology and Communication Studies. I studied BA Sociology at The University of Leicester, achieving a 2:1 Degree. I then studied MA Contemporary Sociology and achieved a Merit (2:1) in 2012, again, at The University of Leicester.

Tutoring Experience:
I have experience working as a Cover Supervisor and have completed my SAS (Student Associate Scheme) training at Groby Community College in Media and Communication Studies. I also carried out placements in various nearby schools and colleges around Leicestershire. In addition to this, I have mentored and tutored various University students and adult learners. I have extensive experience with writing essays, dissertations, and exam preparation. I am more than willing to tailor each lesson to my student`s needs and requirements. I am flexible in my approach and welcome any suggestions.

Tutoring Approach:
I would describe my teaching style as creative and stimulating, whilst maintaining professionalism and focus at all times. I am more than willing to tailor my approach and teaching style to my student. I love instilling my love of learning into my pupils and I always get results in a relaxed, enjoyable and rewarding way. At primary level, depending on their school, age and level of English, I use music and games to reinforce oral development, aid pronunciation, and test spelling and grammar skills.

Availability: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I am currently tutoring a second-year Sociology student studying at King’s College in London and her grades have significantly improved.

I am also tutoring an A-Level student in their first year of A-Level Sociology.

I aided an A-level student who was predicted a grade D, and received a grade B after 2 months of weekly lessons.
