I am a very experienced and successful English teacher/tutor.I also work for the AQA exam board.I am young at heart and pride myself on building strong working relationships with my students.
I am a patient, organised and reliable person who has worked successfully with students of all abilities helping them to achieve their 11+, GCSE and A level grades.
This year I have taught students at the local grammar schools in Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Canterbury preparing them for their English Language and English Literature examinations with the AQA, IGCSE and Edexcel exam boards.
My rates are fair, and I can work from home or online.

Availability: I am now available to tutor weekdays and at weekends during both term time and holidays.

I set appropriate work for the students and mark it with detailed comments, examples of top-level essays and revision materials from the exam boards.
As an experienced examiner I have access to many excellent resources which students use to support their learning.

Experience: I have been a very successful Head of English teaching in Grammar, Independent and Comprehensive schools for over thirty years.
Also I am an AQA examiner which I have done for the last twenty years gaining huge experience of the marking system and accessing model answers that are so beneficial to my students` learning.
This year I have successfully taught two 11+ tutees, two year 9 students, three GCSE students and I am also tutoring a student in preparation for his Edexcel Language and Literature exams. (He achieved a 9 in his language exam and 7 in Literature.)This year I have also tutored a home based student studying the Cambridge IGCSE. She achieved 7s in both English Language and Literature exams in the November exams. I am also supporting a 9 year old preparing for the Kent 11 plus tests.
