My name is Elf, I am a 30 year old secondary school Drama teacher and I am an experienced personal tutor in English Literature and Theatre Studies.

I am keen to offer my help to any stressed student who needs a bit of guidance, confidence boosting and support when it comes to the pressures of school, university and exam season!

My talent is in exam preparation and ensuring you mention everything you need to in order to get full marks.

ABOUT ME:
I am a teacher, professional stand-up comedian, and writer. My work has been published in newspapers and magazines around the UK and I frequently speak on the Radio regarding issues as diverse as politics, the economy and the creative industries.

At the moment I work as a Drama teacher alongside working as a personal tutor. I love it, and have found innovative ways to make online learning a fun and interactive experience.

I have lectured at Universities and at schools around the UK on subjects as diverse as comedy writing, Shakespeare and the art of public speaking.

I have extensive experience working with children of all ages and abilities (including SEN) and love helping each individual develop confidence in literacy, essay writing skills and being able to share their ideas in clear and concise ways!

MA in Theatre & Performance at Queen Mary University London
Two year Diploma from the renowned L`Ecole Phillippe Gaulier in Paris
PGCE in Secondary Education at Goldsmiths University, London

MY SESSIONS:
KS4 & KS5: I am currently offering fun and dynamic tutoring sessions for English and Theatre students preparing for GCSE and /or A Level. (OCR, AQA and Edexcel.)

KS3 & KS4: I am offering fun, relaxed tutoring sessions in English and Drama for students who need help developing their oracy, literacy and confidence when it comes to analysing text and sharing their points of view! These lessons take the form of a conversation analysing and chatting about various newspaper articles, poets and their work and reading scenes of dialogue from plays and films.

BA and MA students: If you are struggling with your course, essay preparation or have hit a wall with your thesis and need to talk it through with somebody, I am your girl. I have been there, I understand the stress and I have an array of tips and tricks on how to write the best possible essay you are capable of!

EXPERIENCE:
I have extensive experience tutoring for GCSE and A Level in English and Theatre studies and have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to areas such as Shakespeare, poetry analysis, understanding of text and essay structure. (Casual boast - I got 100% in my English Shakespeare paper and my Drama A Level exam!)


APPROACH:
I have an open, calm and creative approach to revision and tutoring.

Availability: I am available late afternoons, after school during week days and afternoons on the weekend.

Experience: Have experience in theatre youth work. I have run and taught comedy and theatre workshops to children, students and adults all throughout the UK.

Have experience teaching Drama at schools at KS3, 4 and 5.
