I am an experienced English tutor with a first class honours degree. For seven years, I taught English and English Literature at a Portsmouth secondary school. After the birth of my son, I began private tutoring at both primary and secondary level.

For the past six years, I have worked as English Intervention Tutor at a Birmingham secondary school (key stages 3 and 4), helping pupils with spelling, grammar, punctuation and sentence construction, as well as fostering creativity and promoting independent thinking. In addition, I have worked with a large number of pupils on the GCSE C/D borderline with considerable success.

I have taught students on the autistic spectrum, and who have dyslexia, Asperger`s Syndrome and anxiety. Also, I have taught adult literacy and English as an Additional Language.

My experience has made me realise that all pupils learn differently and that finding the key to that pupil`s individual learning style makes all the difference.

I charge £25 per hour. I look forward to working with you.
