Information about Alison
I`m an enthusiastic Geography teacher, currently working part-time in an Independent school, willing to tutor in person or online. With over 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience, I know exactly how to prepare students for exams and to help them to realise their potential.
I am happy to tutor all syllabuses for both GCSE and A-level, and can particularly help with exam technique and the A-level NEA. On average, students working with me will see their grades improve by at least 2.
As a qualified teacher, I also have experience of home-schooling small groups at KS3.

Experience: With over 10 years experience as a teacher and Head of Department in both a Further Education college and Independent Schools, I have a track record of helping student achieve above and beyond their predicted grades.
I oversaw the syllabus changes in 2016 as Head of Department, and fully appreciate the challenges facing both teachers and students with the A-level Independent Investigation.
I hold a Geography degree from the University of Cambridge (2008) and PGCE from the University of the West of England (2011).

Alison has been an excellent tutor and I would recommend her without hesitation. She has taken my son up two grade levels since he started (proven with course work and tests), given him the confidence to speak up and regularly in class (teacher feedback) and made him interested in the subject (he has openly said it). As a parent I could not have asked for me.

Alison is excellent; organised, positive, friendly and has a true passion for her subject. She is very willing to come with work pre prepared for my daughter to complete in between sessions which means that the sessions are really effective. Punctual and polite, we are so pleased to have her on board!

Alison has been tutoring our son for a few weeks now. She is very reliable and punctual. Alison clearly relays her knowledge and enthusiasm for Geography in her lessons. She is helping with exam technique as well as facilitating analytical thinking. I would definitely recommend her for exam tuition.
