I am a Team Leading examiner for GCSE History and A Level Politics and have an Associate membership from the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors. I hold my A.S. teaching from Warwick University (BECTA) and my teaching certificate from the University of Lancaster. I have written research papers on education and history, published under BECTA (2005/6/7) that analysed the way that students learned. I am an experienced middle manager and have been a School Improvement Advisor for BECTA. I have taught for at The Harrodian school and currently teach History and Politics at The City of London School.

I have taught both AQA and Edexcel A-level Politics (examining for the former). I have a real passion for politics in the UK and the USA. I use current events from the week to highlight the course and allow my students to connect with what they are studying.

For History I have a passion for US history and have also taught French Revolution, Mao`s China and Germany. For GCSE I examine for AQA - paper 2 Elizabeth, though have taught both AQA, Edexcel and the Cambridge IGCSE. I can cover most areas.

Availability: Please note: The amounts shown are for online - via zoom, in person tuition normally is at a minimum of two hours, including travel time.

I term time, I am available after 5:30pm week days and some weekends by arrangement.

I am also happy to teach more than one student in a session, still for the same hourly rate. I would suggest groups no higher than 4. This includes lessons given and work marked for the next session.

Experience: I have over 15 years experience in the classroom, a department head and a consultant teacher. I work as an examiner each summer and as such have excellent knowledge and understanding of the exams and the ways to succeed. I have an excellent understanding of how to go for the top levels.

My experience in the City Learning Centre as a consultant allowed me to work with students from 8 - 11. I have excellent experience working with GCSE and A Level candidates. I have worked with and lectured at University level. As a result, I can help students deal with exams or simply back up and consolidate knowledge.
