Information about Kufreabasi
Hello,
My name is Kufre, and I am currently a medical student at Kings College London. I chose to study medicine because it combines helping others, teaching, and continuous learning. During my A levels, I mentored GCSE Physics students and found it valuable to support their progress. This experience, alongside my interest in pathology, contributed to my decision to pursue medicine.
**Educational background**
I completed my GCSEs at The Leigh Academy, where I achieved five grade 9s, five grade 8s, and an A* in Further Maths.
I then studied A levels at King Edward VI Grammar School, Chelmsford, achieving four A*s in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. During this time, I also worked as a GCSE Physics mentor, which helped me develop my interest in teaching. Together with my clinical placement experience at my local hospital, this reinforced my decision to study medicine.
**Teaching style**
My teaching approach begins with identifying the areas a student finds most challenging. This may be done through a short quiz, discussion, or by asking the student to provide a list of topics they would like to work on.
I then explain high-yield content clearly and give the student opportunities to ask questions throughout the lesson. After this, I set practice tasks to help consolidate understanding and assess progress. Once a group of topics has been completed, I use exam-style questions to check the students understanding and highlight any areas that may need further work.
