Hello! I’m an English tutor with solid experience supporting students from KS3 to GCSE, both in one-to-one settings and small groups. I focus on building strong analytical and writing skills, and I teach in a calm, structured, and encouraging way that helps students feel capable and motivated, drawing from my time studying English Literature at A-Level - achieving an A aswell.

I’m particularly confident teaching GCSE English Language, especially unseen texts, analysis of writers’ methods, and developing clear, purposeful responses. I also work closely with students on creative writing, helping them strengthen clarity, voice, structure, and overall confidence. My goal is to make writing feel less like a task and more like an opportunity to express ideas with skill and intention.

While every school teaches different GCSE Literature texts, I am fully confident teaching the core analytical and interpretive skills required across all exam boards. I guide students through evaluating themes, character development, tone, structure, and language choices, and I equip them with the tools they need to tackle any literature question with independence.

I currently work at a tutoring centre in Rainham on weekends, where I teach a wide range of learners. I also regularly support younger students (Year 1 and up) with foundational literacy, sentence construction, descri ptive skills, spelling, and early comprehension.

Above all, I’m committed to helping students genuinely understand English. I teach with clarity, patience, and intention, aiming to build long-term confidence, not just short-term results. I want students to enjoy English as a skill they can use, develop, and take pride in.

Availability: I`m available most weekday afternoons (1pm onwards), and Sundays from 9am-4pm!

Experience: I have strong experience tutoring English across KS1–KS4, with a particular focus on KS3 and GCSE preparation. In my current role at a Rainham tutoring centre, I work with students of varied abilities, supporting them in developing analytical thinking, essay structure, and confident written expression.

I specialise in GCSE English Language, especially unseen text analysis. I teach students how to identify a writer’s methods, understand tone and perspective, and produce well-structured, thoughtful responses that meet exam criteria. I also support both creative and transactional writing, helping learners sharpen clarity, organisation, and style so they can approach exam tasks with confidence.

In Literature, I’m experienced in teaching the essential skills that apply across all set texts and exam boards. I focus on developing strong thematic understanding, exploring character motivations, and analysing language with precision. My approach prepares students to handle exam questions effectively, even when texts vary between schools.

In addition to older students, I regularly teach KS1 and KS2 learners. With them, I work on core literacy foundations: building sentences, descri ptive writing, spelling fluency, reading comprehension, and confident communication. These sessions have helped me become highly adaptable and skilled at breaking down concepts in a clear, accessible way.

I’m experienced in both group instruction and one-to-one tutoring. I tailor each session to the learner in front of me while keeping lessons engaging, structured, and discussion-driven. My teaching aims to build genuine understanding, increase confidence, and show students that English is a skill they can master with the right guidance.
