Information about Jessica
I am a fully qualified maths teacher with a passion for education, and I currently work for a maths education research and technology company.
I am easy-going and approachable and have 2 years experience teaching in the classroom and many years experience of 1-on-1 tutoring.
I cater my teaching to the needs of each individual, no matter what age or ability, and will start by assessing any areas of strength or weakness.
I understand how challenging maths can be and how little confidence many people have in their maths abilities, so I am happy to go as far back to basics as is needed. I`m equally happy tutoring students that already excel in the subject and just need that extra push to get them from an 8 to a 9 in their GCSEs.
I ensure all my students know that making mistakes is not only OK, it is a really helpful and important part of understanding and mastering new skills.
Please get in touch if you have any questions at all.
Availability: Weekday evenings
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I taught at an Ofsted outstanding school in Cheshire which I adored but left to pursue a career that focuses on researching where and why students struggle with maths and how to combat this. I really love helping students gain real enjoyment for the subject and thrive in their exams.
I have also worked as a teaching assistant and have mentored and tutored since I was in sixth form.
