Information about Nicholas

I believe a rich understanding of the concepts being taught at GCSE and A-Level is what separates the As from the A*s. It is key to have basic principles locked down and appreciated from first principles before any effective revision can take place. Once these often overlooked basics are understood, students can acknowledge how different areas of mathematics are interlinked, and hopefully improve their grades without the need for repetitive exam questions.

I base my lessons on online syllabuses, and look to provide extra insight for younger students who may be struggling as I myself found STEM subjects more difficult in my earlier years, yet still found ways to develop my understanding and get to where I am today.

Availability: I am available outside of working hours every week as I am a full-time student. This would mean I am free almost every day after 5pm, apart from Fridays. I am also around on Saturday and Sunday during the day.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I am an undergraduate student with top grades in my A-levels (Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Physics) and GCSEs. I was part of the first cohort that sat 1-9 Maths, English Language and Literature, and I achieved level 9 grades in every subject. I recently finished my first year at Imperial College reading chemistry, receiving a place on the Dean`s List.

I have three years of experience tutoring a number of GCSE students, a Year 12 student (who recently achieved a level 9 in her Maths GCSE), a Year 7 student, as well as leading a “genius maths group” at my secondary school where I discussed more difficult and stimulating mathematical problems with Year 8 students. Two of my current tutees I have been tutoring via Zoom.
