Joe

My name is Joe and I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Masters degree in engineering. I worked for Jaguar Land Rover for 4 years, starting on their graduate programme. I have recently moved back to Beverley and I am working at St Mary`s College Sixth Form as a Maths Tutor.

From a young age I showed a great interest and aptitude for Mathematics taking my Maths GCSE a year early. For A level I studied Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Electronics achieving top grades in each. I was awarded the mathematics award at my school for the highest performance in the subject. Since then I have studied 4 years of engineering at the University of Cambridge developing these skills further.

I believe I have the necessary communication and teaching skills to transfer this knowledge to others. Having recently completed my studies I am very familiar and confident with the current material. I take the approach of breaking down the subject, explaining the theory, demonstrating examples and reinforce this with practice questions. I believe that learning is best achieved in a positive and enjoyable environment and I will aspire to make each student feel at ease and confident with the material.
