I am an experienced and qualified biology tutor, looking forward to enabling students to reach their goals and targets.

After achieving high grades in my own GCSE and A-Level Biology (A*) and being awarded a first-class hons undergraduate degree in biology, I decided to tutor biology and help other students achieve their best. I enjoy tutoring biology very much and think the content is great, I therefore aim to make tutoring as enjoyable for the tutee as possible in order to help student retention and engagement as much as possible.

I typically use a mixture of teaching content (using diagrams, videos and creating resources like notes) and teach exam technique with practice questions. I do tailor this to each student dependent on their own strengths and weaknesses, but have found so far that nearly all students need a mixture of both to really excel in their studies. I provide each tutee with their own, individual, notes that we create together as part of the tutoring in order to provide notes that are easy to understand to enable the tutee to revise outside of the sessions.

Experience: I have over 250 hours of experience spanning three years of professional tutoring. Before this however, I did spend many years tutoring low-income students for free whilst studying at university and for my own A-levels. I have worked with a wide range of students, spanning all grades and all exam boards.
Similarly i have worked with students from year 7 up to year 13.
