Information about Micah
I have taught English, Economics, Maths, Politics and 11+ for over five years.
I secured 3A*s in English, Politics and Economics at A-level and enjoy writing articles on these topics in my spare time.
I have experience tutoring individuals from primary school age through to GCSE and A-Level. This year, my students have surpassed their predicted grades, achieving As and A*s at GCSE and scoring well in their 11+ exams.
As well as bolstering my student`s knowledge of their subject content, I develop students` time management and exam technique, since these factors are vital in securing top grades.
I regularly attend workshops and events across the UK to enhance my teaching. Recently, I attended The Evolution of Education Conference led by Professor AC Grayling and Professor Tim Wheeler in Shrewsbury, and CPD: Language and Literacy Workshop in London (Holborn).
I enjoy getting to know students as individuals. Identifying students` specific learning needs and confidence development is essential to ensure academic success. By providing engaging and tailored lessons, I help numerous students become enthusiastic about subjects they struggle with.
Topics I have taught recently:
English Literature:
Plays - Shakespeare (e.g. Romeo and Juliet, Measure for Measure, Much Ado About Nothing) Henrik Ibsen and J. B. Priestley.
Books - Gothic Literature (e.g. Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Jekyll and Hyde, The Yellow Wallpaper, Dracula, Frankenstein, A light in August, American Psycho, Vathek and Northanger Abbey).

My students tend to request help in creative/descri ptive writing, grammar and syntax.
