Information about Marina

Hi, my name is Marina and I am a qualified German Greek and English teacher. My BA (with QTS) is in German Language and Literature and my Ma is in Education: TESOL. I aim to adapt the lesson to your learning style and needs, while I am friendly, approachable and patient.

Availability: I am available daytimes, evenings and Sundays.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I find happiness and fulfilment in supporting pupils and young people to develop and improve their skills. Since 2017 I have been working through various agencies as Teacher, Cover supervisor, Teaching assistant, higher level teaching assistant and SEN teaching assistant and I have developed valuable skills for the role. Besides, I teach languages on-line (Skype) such as Greek, English for academic purposes and German. I have also taught Spanish at Phesant Bank academy in Doncaster, where I had the opportunity to improve my teaching skills. More precisely, I was responsible for safeguarding and creating lesson plans, while I was working as a Higher level teaching assistant. I have also supported teachers with marking and lesson planning and supporting SEN pupils. I am particularly interested in the SEN field, thus since 2011 my knowledge up-to-date and I am currently studying for my diploma in autism awareness.

I have also experience in managing workloads and large bodies of work as I was frequently supervising groups of pupils with differing needs and had to balance my time between them, ensuring tasks were completed on schedule. I was also managing my time and my workload to maximise efficiency and provide a positive pupil focused learning environment. In addition, active listening, patience and adaptability are some of the skills that I have sharpened during teaching and will be a valuable part of my role as a learning support advisor. I have also learned to adapt the lesson to learner’s needs and learning style, while I ensure that I always set a good example and maintain a friendly and pleasant attitude at all times.
