Information about Alina
I am a final year Physics student at Imperial College London. I found studying physics at university to be incredibly enjoyable and rewarding, therefore I would like to help younger students improve their understanding of physics, maths or chemistry and hopefully make them enjoy those subjects more.
I am friendly and patient in my tutoring approach, I always try to explain the same concept in more than one way and go though as many questions and examples as needed.
Outside of my degree, music is one of my main interests: I have been playing the violin for 14 years, passed ABRSM Grade 8 with Distinction in 2012, currently a member of the Imperial College orchestra.
Availability: Evenings and weekends
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: I was mentoring a secondary school student for two years as part of a programme at IntoUniversity. I provided support with science and maths homework and revision.
In Sixth Form, I took part in the mentoring scheme which involved tutoring Year 12 students for their AS Chemistry exams.
In 2nd year, I gained some classroom experience at a secondary school which also counted towards my degree. Teaching physics to Year 10 and Year 12 students allowed me to develop a much better understanding of the way student learn.
I have been tutoring GCSE and A level Physics and A level Maths since November 2014.
