Information about Joseph
I am conscientious and diligent with a keen curiosity and love of learning. I finished my GCSEs with one of the highest GCSE point scores in my school and I am currently predicted two A* and two As for A-Level.
This is testament to my commitment to learning and self improvement through the acquisition of new skills and knowledge. I relish challenges which allow me to use and hone my problem-solving skills and believe that hard work, determination and discipline are the winning combination for success and overcoming obstacles.
In addition to the aforementioned traits, what I bring to any team that I work with is tenacity, enthusiasm and strong communication skills. I have demonstrated my strong leadership skills in a variety of roles and can work well as part of a team or using my own initiative.
I do understand that in order to be a successful tutor, one has to understand that not everyone may think in a similar way to you. Hence, highlighting the importance of good communication skills which is displayed under the "your experience" space below.

Experience: - Shadowing Consultant Neonatologist at Guys St Thomas Hospital: December 2018
This experience really highlighted the importance of effective collaboration and communication between all professionals working towards the same goal. The strict code of conduct also ensured that all staff carried out their duties with the utmost professionalism. I was able to mirror these skills in my communication and interaction with patients and staff during my time at the hospital.
- Blackfriars Settlement Centre: November 2017 - April 2018
I volunteered here for over 6 months and learned a lot about myself and developed my emotional intelligence while working with a team dedicated to the promotion of positive ageing. I worked in the morning to help prepare and serve breakfast and held one-to-one and group conversations with the elderly people who attended the centre. Patience was key but empathy with the elderly made this and easy, enjoyable and rewarding experience.
- Captain of the my Secondary School`s Football Team/Prefect: 2012 - 2017
I was the captain of the Academys football team for five years. Helping out with training sessions and team selection. As Captain and Prefect I was able to improve my organisation skills, leadership and time management.
- Southwark Mathematics Challenge
I was part of a team of four who won the Southwark mathematics challenge. I showed my ability to work under pressure by working out challenging mathematics questions in front of an audience and leading my team to success.
