Information about Ned

I am patient, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable on a wide range of humanities subjects. My public speaking skills make me a great communicator of ideas and information. I prefer to take a holistic approach to tutoring. So whilst covering syllabus and exam board requirements, I try to focus on nurturing a student`s interest in the topic we`re working on, and making interdisciplinary connections that expand their understanding beyond the realms of simply `passing an exam`. For me it`s about seeing how humanities subjects interlink, which I think serves to make exams easier, but more importantly, develops a lasting interest which carries through to higher education, career development, and ultimately greater intellectual stimulation.

Availability: Flexible. Weekdays ideal, but generally available evenings & weekends.

Willing to travel: 15 miles

Experience: Having taken work experience at primary schools, with a focus on special needs education, I went on to study English Literature & Language at Kings College London, and subsequently completed a Masters in Acting for Screen at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, where I was awarded an Embassy Scholarship.
During this time, I taught guitar and bass lessons, and began writing journalism. I write regularly for international print and online publications Dazed & Confused Magazine, Headspace, Brick Magazine, and others in a freelance capacity.
I also work regularly as an actor in stage and screen productions, and take on volunteer work in correctional facilities, where I lead group therapy sessions on the RAPT wing at HMP Wormwood Scrubs, helping to encourage and rehabilitate gifted inmates.
