Information about Richard
I`m a 23 year old graduate of the University of Liverpool. I majored in English, and minored in history finishing with a 1st class degree in 2018. I have been tutoring since the summer of 2016 and continue to do so while I work towards my Masters of Research degree and PhD.
I`m currently living in the village of Rainford, giving me easy access to the St Helens, Wigan and Liverpool areas so travelling to you will not be a problem. Adversely, tutoring at my home would not be an issue either.
I am available to tutor English and History at both GCSE and A level. Although, as historical content can greatly vary across the exam boards it would be worth discussing the course content first.
My price for tuition is set at £25 per hour. But, I am willing to deduct £5 off the price if you would be willing to be tutored at my home, saving me the cost of travelling.
Prior to beginning lessons I always prefer to have an introductory meeting (free of charge of course) to talk through when lessons would be convenient, strengths and weaknesses, course content etc. It would also be a good opportunity to ask me any questions you may have about my academic expertise, content knowledge and prior experience.
With any luck I`ll be able to help and providing you`re happy with our meeting we can arrange the first lesson for the following week.
If you have any further questions about me or my service that are still unanswered feel free to contact me privately if you need questions answered before a first meeting.
I remember the pressures of G.C.S.E and A-level all to well. I underwent private tuition too and experienced first hand the effectiveness of one-to-one work. Without my G.C.S.E maths tutor helping turn a C into an A I could not be doing what i presently am. There is no problem that cannot be solved or grade that cannot be improved with help, and I look forward to being part of your road to success.
Regards, Richard.
Availability: I tutor all through the week.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: Prior to offering tuition in English and History I tutored in Music. Since beginning University I decided to put music on the back burner and focus my efforts in English and post 18th century History. I tutored for almost all of my time as an undergraduate (two and a half years) as it fit with my timetable also working part-time as a research assistant. My end goal is to attain my PhD and find tenure lecturing at University and/or college level.

Richard has been a fabulous tutor for my daughter. From the first session things that she had struggled with started to click. He was well prepared with handouts that made more sense than what had been given from college. He explained things in a way that my daughter could relate too and she is feeling more confident in her preparation for her English A level. She looks forward to the sessions and we cant thank Richard enough for his help and guidance.
