Information about Carwyn
My musical interests vary across solo, ensemble and orchestral work. Often playing in the Brecon Baroque Festival Orchestra with Rachel Podger, in many musical theatre productions, and also leading my own contemporary music ensemble the Epoch Ensemble. Solo performances include a masterclass on the Bach Suites with Steven Isserlis, and playing Shostakovichs Cello Concerto No. 1 with the Royal Holloway Symphony Orchestra. Orchestral work includes playing with the National Youth Orchestra of Wales, RHUL Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, president of the RHUL Early Music Ensemble, Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra and the London Musical Theatre Orchestra. Also have played alongside the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the London Mozart Players, and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Experience: I first started teaching in 2011, as I prepared some of my old teachers pupils for examinations. After this introduction to teaching I took on some of my own pupils, until 2013 when I left home to start University. At University I took on the teaching of some fellow students who who were second instrument Cellists or wanted to learn casually. In my second year at University I started work as a Cello Teacher at ACS Egham International School, and have tought there since. Since beginning my teaching, I have taught pupils individually, in groups as well as setting up ensembles that I rehearse. I have tought pupils across the age spectrum, from 4 years old to parents; and I also have experience in adapting my teaching to cater for pupils with various learning and behavioural difficulties, as well as hearing impairments.
