Information about Claire
I have been a qualified teacher since 2015. I worked in the UK for the first 4 years of my career and then moved to China and worked in an international school in Beijing for 2 years.
I am very professional, approachable, patient and creative in my teaching approach. I push/challenge students (as well as myself) in a supportive manner through their learning journey.
I have experience teaching the 9-1 Science GCSE curriculum in all sciences, especially with the AQA and Edexcel (International) exam boards.
I specialise in Biology at KS3, GCSE and A-level, my second subject is Physics which I teach to GCSE level.
I also enjoy teaching all sciences at the KS3 level (ages 11-14), possibly the most important stage. It equips students with the essential foundational knowledge to access and implement scientific knowledge at GCSE and beyond.
Availability: I am no longer available for tutoring.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I am a qualified science teacher with experience in teaching GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I have taught the AQA and Edexcel GCSE and International GCSE specifications and Biology A-level through AQA and Edexcel (including the International version of Edexcel`s curriculum).
My qualifications include PGCE in Secondary education, PhD in Biomedicine and BSc(Hons) 2:1 in Human Biology. I worked as a Pharmacy assistant throughout my studies, then as a research assistant in biomedicine at the University of Manchester before completing my teacher training.
I am happy to offer tutoring for those studying KS3, GCSE and A-level. My specialism is Biology and I have taught more Physics than Chemistry but willing to help where I can. I can also offer advice in exam techniques, essay writing, proof reading, CV writing, study coaching and applying for jobs.
