I want to teach because I want to share my passion for Mathematics with young people. I feel Mathematics is a powerful and challenging subject and equips our young people with the problem solving and reasoning skills essential to daily life.

I find teaching very rewarding and have been teaching from a young age - first as a Martial Arts (Taekwondo) assistant instructor and later as a mentor and Mathematics tutor. I am currently a 3rd Dan Black Belt Instructor and manage and teach a weekly Taekwondo class of 25 students aged between 5 and 16 years. I am an accredited instructor with the Worldwide Taekwondo Federation (WTF) and hold a valid CRB, instructor and referee license. This experience has given me an understanding of the different strengths and abilities that young people bring to a class and that what matters even more than the level of knowledge that you have, is how you can deliver it in a way that delights and motivates students to learn. I also feel that the development of mutual respect between teacher and pupil is vital for a conducive learning environment where young people can exceed their own expectations.

I wish to apply for this position, as I have the right experience and skills to provide top class mathematics to the students. I have been tutoring mathematics, Business and Economics for five years. Then I went to China and was teaching A Level mathematics and economics and I have managed to secure more than 50% of the Students of the Class with a A* in the hardest exam board CIE within six months. I have fantastic resources used by the top grammar schools and private schools across the country and able to put them to use in your school.

I have also spent time to help younger students with a wide range of abilities including pupils with Autism and Dyslexia (SEN) during my volunteering at Secondary school. I helped with their homework and was encouraged to mentor and work with the pupils in small groups or one-to-one, as directed by the teachers. With Year 7 students I facilitated their transition from Junior to Senior school and gave them advice on how to manage their workload, for Year 9 I helped with their preparation for KS3 SATS, in addition to mentoring GCSE students in the lower sets to achieve a good pass in Mathematics. During my A Levels I assisted my teachers with their lessons as well as preparing personal lessons to explain topics in more depth to my peers.

I am a responsible, mature individual and constantly exceed target grades with hard work and persistence. I always try to work to the best of my abilities and am the type of person that aims for high standards and strives to keep on learning. I know that teaching will be challenging as well as rewarding but I feel ready and prepared for that challenge. I am keen to play my part in ensuring that our young people improve their abilities in Mathematics because it is essential for their personal achievements and also, in an increasingly globalized and competitive world, to the continued success of the country and as whole.

Experience: I have six years experience as a tutor of all GCSE subjects and Maths, Economics and Business Studies Teacher doing the A Level syllabus all the way through to University level. I have recently been to China Teaching as a Mathematics and Economics specialist teaching the CIE syllabus for over five months.
