Hi!
My name is Izzy, I am 20 years old and am studying Human and Physical Geography at the University of Reading. I am going into my 3rd year after achieving a 2:1 in 2nd year. My dissertation is based on the effectiveness of the coastal management in Eastbourne.

I am enthusiastic about the subject of geography due to the wide range of transferable skills which can be taken advantage of in later life. I enjoy the relation it has to both current and past affairs meaning it is relevant to every day life.

I enjoy working with a range of ages due to the different natures of conversations and debates that can be addressed during a session. I want to share my enthusiasm and aid students learning to help them reach their full potential.

As both a GCSE and A Level student I found it beneficial to have a Geography Tutor as it gave me the confidence I needed to do as well as I could. It gave me more opportunities to focus on specific topics and fine tune areas which I personally needed which were not covered in detail in class.

Other interests and hobbies include:
I am a Level 1 Cheerleader at a gym in Newbury while enjoying a range of sports including tennis, surfing and paddle-boarding.
I enjoy reading a wide variety of literature including fiction and non-fiction but particularly enjoy crime thrillers.

Experience: I have a range of experience with children of different ages.

I was a Ranger Leader at the age of 18 where I planned, organised and ran activities in accordance to the tasks needed for Girl Guiding challenges and badges. This was for a group of girls aged 14-18.

I was an assistant tennis coach, demonstrating and teaching basic and advanced tennis skills in line with appropriate safe guarding for ages 5+.

I was involved in supporting cheerleading coaches for mini to senior ages (4+) teaching a range of skills from dance, tumbles and stunts among other skills required for a competition routine. Health and safety was a key focus.

I am currently studying Human and Physical Geography at the University of Reading. During Summer 2021 I had a 2 week school placement observing geography lessons and writing a report on how teaching can be adapted for student with different abilities. I will be going into my 3rd year in October after achieving a 2:1 in 2nd year.
