Information about Ava
I have a First Class Honours Bachelors Degree in Physics from Kings College London and I am starting my Masters in Computer Science at UCL in September 23. I have extensive experience tutoring maths and physics
GCSE students through social outreach programmes and private clients. I have worked with learning difficulties such as ADHD. I also hold a DBS certificate. My ethos is to build students confidence by working with their unique ways of thinking. I achieve this by explaining concepts in a variety of ways until it "clicks".
In addition to my academic pursuits, I am a certified Yoga instructor and an artist. My diverse background in both quantitative and creative fields enables me to employ a variety of teaching methods, catering to students with varying learning styles. I enjoy teaching students and increasing their academic confidence. My ultimate objective is to facilitate students in achieving exemplary academic performance.
Availability: Anytime
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I am currently tutoring GCSE Physics students online.
During my final year of university I participated in a programme called Team Up which provides weekly tutoring sessions for children with underprivileged backgrounds. I had the pleasure of working with 2 GCSE students to improve their Maths skills. Over the 6 months of tutoring their grade improved from 4 to 8.
During my time at secondary school I also tutored students in the year below me in Maths and Physics. In 2018 I volunteered as a teaching assistant with a year 4 and reception class in Hammersmith.
