I am KS3, GCSE and A Level Science specialist teacher. I am a friendly and enthusiastic qualified, chartered Science teacher with 15 years` experience, supporting pupils to achieve their best results, and Registered scientist. As a WJEC, AQA, OCR and EDEXCEL examiner I have an intimate knowledge of the exams sat for GCSE and A Level being involved in their marking and development. I am DBS checked and I have taught in the best schools in Wales (and was a science teacher at Cardiff High for 6 years. I have progressed to work at Cardiff University, Lecturing teachers in Educational practice and working with schools all over Wales to enhance their provision, and developing educators of the future. I have a degree in Medical Pharmacology, PG Diploma in Medical Toxicology, with a Masters in Management and Professional Development a degree in Engineering, and I have completed my Masters in Education, and I am working towards a PhD in education. I am a registered scientist and have achieved the acclaimed chartered science teacher award ( only 6 people in Wales have achieved this). I am able to teach Chemistry and Biology to A level standard, All sciences at GCSE and below. I am able to support all pupils, from all ability levels and have had exceptional results as a classroom teacher and a tutor. As part of my role in the University I am involved in admissions, checking personal statements and assessing the calibre of students attending the university. I am also able to support with personal statements, and also entrance exams.

Experience: I have been tutoring and teaching all levels of science for 15 years, and I have taught in the best schools in Wales. I now lecture teachers at Cardiff University raising teaching and educational practice across Wales in the best ways to support learning and teaching of pupils, and work with schools across Wales to develop their teaching practice. I am an advanced stage practitioner and research active around best practice pedagogy. I have a friendly approach to tutoring, and make difficult concepts easier to understand using everyday examples. I have helped pupils go on to achieve excellent results, with students developing from D grades to A at AS and A2 level, and countless success with GCSE pupils at all levels and abilities, from those requiring greater support to pupils who need fine tuning to achieve an A* grade. I am able to teach all science to GCSE (Chemistry, Physics and Biology) and I teach AS/A2 level Chemistry and Biology, Medical Science.

I am friendly, approachable and able to tutor a wide range of ages from school students to those returning to study GCSE and A levels at a later date. I like to build a rapport with my students and believe that a good working relationship is important. I tailor my tuition to the individual needs of each student, and listen carefully to their requirements as well as using my professional judgement to best support and build confidence in all subjects.
