Information about Olivia
I have a first class degree in Psychology & Japanese, and a masters degree in Neuroscience. I use dyslexia friendly teaching techniques. I can tutor you in course materials, as well as in exam preparation and essay writing.
Psychology & Neuroscience:
I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology with Japanese, for which I received first class honours. As part of my studies I took modules in neuropsychology social, developmental, cognitive and health psychology and research methods and statistics.
I have a postgraduate masters degree in Language Sciences, with a specialism in Neuroscience and Communication,for which I received a merit. As part of my postgraduate studies I studied the brain and brain imaging, rehabilitation of acquired neurogenic communication difficulties, and the neuroscience of language.
I also have experience working professionally within the field of psychology and neuroscience. I have worked as a Neurological Rehabilitation Assistant, supporting individuals with traumatic brain damage maintain their independence and make gains in skill remediation as a mentor to individuals with emotional and social difficulties and as a support worker with individuals with neurodegenerative diseases and mental health disorders. My work within the field gives me an in depth knowledge of biological treatments in psychiatry biological, psychodynamic, and humanistic approaches in psychology and psychopathology.
I am writing a paper for submission in the field of Biopsychology, and have presented at the British Psychological Association`s Annual Scientific Meeting of Biopsychology.
Japanese:
I studied Japanese at the University of Central Lancashire and completed my diploma in Advanced Japanese at the Nagasaki University of Foreign Studies. I am confident in all aspects of the language and am conversationally fluent.
I work in a dyslexia friendly manner, and am able to provide coloured overlays, worksheets on coloured paper, and work ahead of time to help facilitate learning.
