I am a fully qualified teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience and over 15 years of experience in working with young people. English and Literacy are my subject specialisms. I trained as a primary teacher but I have an extra 5 years experience in secondary. Before I did my PGCE, I had training in teaching English as a foreign language. I also worked as Head of the English Department for the Buckinghamshire county-wide PRU, so I have a very up-to-date knowledge and stock of resources for the new English GCSE.
For students who don`t have time/money for face to face sessions, I am happy to do task/essay marking and detailed feedback.

Ruth seems to be a Friendly lady, who has gelled well with our Grandson. She is intuitive and seems to identify with the problems he is having with his English revision. we feel that she may be able to help him toward a better grade. I only wish that we had found her earlier on in the year! Top marks!!

I contacted Ruth at short notice looking for some help tutoring my daughter in the run up to her A Level English Language Exam. Ruth researched exactly what it was that my daughter needed, built up a really good rapport with her & greatly improved her confidence. I could not have hoped for anyone better and would highly recommend Ruth as a tutor.
