Information about Ali
I hold a BSc in Mathematics from King’s College London and an MSc in Pure Mathematics from Imperial College London, where I am currently a PhD researcher in post-quantum cryptography.
I have taught GCSE and A-level Maths, Further Maths, Statistics and Mechanics since 2016, and I also help students prepare for STEP and MAT. I enjoy working through good problems with my students and helping them discover that challenging mathematics can be rewarding.
My lessons often begin with a brief story about the topic and how it developed. We then work through simple examples before tackling more demanding problems. I adapt the pace to each student, explain difficult ideas clearly, and aim to build both confidence and independent problem-solving skills.
I offer private lessons online using a digital whiteboard, as well as in person.
Availability: Monday-Friday after 5 pm and Saturdays 9 am-1 pm

Ali is an excellent tutor. He has an extremely well-rounded and solidified knowledge about Maths has explains things in a new perspective which a textbook couldn’t. In addition, Ali utilises new, advanced technology to make online tutoring a success from home. My son is really happy and has seen a significant improvement in his ability in Further Maths (not an easy subject). With Ali`s way of teaching my son, he understands more and more, and gaining more confident and not afraid of tricky questions. Mary
