Information about Mark
I am a Physics PhD student at UCL dedicated both to deepening my own understanding as well as passing on my knowledge of maths and science. I like to share my passion of learning with students and endeveour to instill a curiosity and perseverance which will take young minds further than pure knowledge ever can. My french education combined with my work in british schools have introduced me to various styles of learning, and shown to me the importance of tailoring the approach to learning taken to each individual.
I have 4 years experience (>1500 hours) in supporting students and helping them push beyond the `expected grades` set by schools. My past and current clients include GCSE and A-level maths and science pupils, whom I have tutored both individually as well as in groups at schools. My work in schools has given me great insight in how the curriculum is taught and graded, as well as which topics are tough to get your head around and require special attention.
I endeveour to offer pupils a comfortable and productive learning environment. I am lighthearted when appropriate, but will also refocus a student`s attention when necessary.
I appreciate and encourage the fact that not everyone learns the same way and will seek to tailor my lessons to each individual student`s needs and methods.
I tackle the usual `what do i need to learn this for?` with real life examples and extensions of the topics towards applications.
Beyond improving grades, I aim to instill curiosity and an interest for science in my pupils by using examples beyond the curriculum, and adressing current topics and new discoveries made in science.
Availability: I am available on weekday evenings ideally and may be able to occassionally do afternoon

Mark is knowledgeable, professional, patient and reliable. He is helping my son with A2 maths and physics and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to others.
