I am a qualified English Tutor and Mentor who prides herself on building students confidence and giving them the tools for academic success. I studied English at The University of Birmingham, so my speciality is English Language and Literature.

- Over nine years experience tutoring English to KS2/KS3/GCSE/A Level students to prepare them for exams.
- Achieved grade `A` in English at both GCSE and A-Level.

I strongly believe that rather than just taught facts, pupils should be taught how to study. My tutoring sessions are always personalised as every student has different needs. The goal is to break the cycle of feeling frustrated and unsuccessful with English. It is possible that you will never love English, but I will help you get to the point where you no longer struggle with it.

My tutoring will always be geared so that you/your child will understand how to work on your own. This is because in an exam you are on your own, and do not have access to any hints or guidance. This requires lots of independent and creative thinking, and full understanding of the material. Not only will you or your child make staggering progress in English, you will see benefits spread to all areas of study and beyond.

You/Your child will learn how to: organise their own studies, structure their responses and analyse tasks. They will also be taught how to evaluate their own work. They should not only understand where they currently are but also know exactly what is required of them in order to advance to the next grade.

During our tailored sessions, you/your child will:

- Set prioritised goals and develop a structured revision plan to achieve them.
- Learn proven techniques that will gain top marks in academic writing
- Be subject to interactive and thought provoking lessons, to ensure that they are always fully engaged.
- Review and memorise course content and more importantly, learn how to structure difficult exam answers.
- Gain regular feedback on written answers to assess progress and given a revision programme tailored to their specific strengths and weaknesses.

I also offer:

- Proof reading services including assignments, UCAS personal statements and dissertations (£10 per 1,000 words)
- One to one online tutoring
- Tutoring multiple students (maximum 2) at one time (discounts and details are available upon request)
