Information about Francesca

I am a recent English graduate from the University of Cambridge, achieving a Double First Class (BA Hons). I worked for three years in widening participation for Cambridge, designing and delivering programmes and workshops that supported 19,000+ young people aspiring to apply to top universities in the UK. I have significant experience offering support and guidance on personal statements and more for students applying to Oxbridge, taking an encouraging approach focused on authenticity and realising a student`s full academic interests and potential.

I am a patient, friendly and supportive person who enjoys engaging with young people about their goals and aspirations. I am well-read and confident engaging in literature, language, history, current affairs and culture more generally. At Cambridge, I studied English Literature across all time periods, from Greek tragedies to Modernism. I can confidently offer expertise on the form, content and contexts of any Shakespearean texts that a student is studying for GCSE or A-Level. For my own English Literature & Language A-Level, I studied A Room with a View, The Bloody Chamber, A Streetcar Named Desire and the Pearson Edexcel Voices in Speech and Writing Anthology. I wrote two dissertations at Cambridge, one on Angela Carter & Surrealism, the other on Bram Stoker`s Dracula and Victorian Gothic fiction.

I come from a family of teachers and support workers, and believe that supporting a young person`s learning is one of the most rewarding things that you can do. I work collaboratively with each student to identify their learning goals, areas for improvement, and the approach to learning that works best for them.
