I have been a Speech and Drama teacher all my adult life. I am a LAMDA specialist but also experienced with other boards Trinity.

I base my lessons on the syllabus requirements for each grade but I can also prepare individual programmes as required for students auditioning for drama school or anyone looking for professional development or to improve public speaking skills.

Availability: Monday to Thursday from 5pm until 8pm. Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Experience: I have been involved in theatre and performance for the past 25 years, acting and presenting on TV, radio and corporate mediums. I am also a member of The Society of Teachers of Speech and Drama and Equity.

After A Levels, which included Drama and Theatre Arts, I went on to join a Theatre Company in Devon. During this time, I toured extensively around the UK including the Edinburgh Festival and was involved in all aspects of a production, including acting, marketing, sound and lighting, stage management, costume, make-up and props.

I have performed professionally in Pantomime & Theatre nationwide. I chaperoned child actors involved in various productions and worked in Theatre in Education. I have also worked as an adjudicator for a children’s theatrical agency.

Between 2002 and 2006, I obtained a Joint BA (Hons) in English Literature/Theatre Arts, and my Gold Medal in Speech and Drama with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and ATCL with Trinity Guildhall. I also worked in marketing for an accountancy firm.

In 2005 a fellow drama teacher and I set up a weekend drama club in Thornbury, which ran successfully for 4 years. We ened a great deal of personal satisfaction teaching students of different ages and abilities to acquire the skills needed to perform in local productions, participate in local arts festivals and take graded LAMDA and Trinity/Guildhall exams.

Since 2006, I have been teaching students, on a one to one basis, developing their communication, confidence and general acting skills through LAMDA examinations.

From 2009 until 2013, I worked at various schools, including Silverhill School, and Westonbirt Girls School undertaking the LAMDA and Drama disciplines with the students.

Since 2014 I have been teaching LAMDA at Clifton College, privately and working as an adjudicator for The Rose Bowl Awards.
