ABOUT ME:
I graduated from the University of Birmingham with a First Class degree in chemistry.
I completed a post-graduate diploma for "Leadership in Teaching".
I work as a lead practitioner in teaching science at a school in Wolverhampton.
I work part-time and dedicate much of my time to online tutoring.
I teach all 3 sciences at KS3 and GCSE level. I specialise in chemistry and teach this at A-level.
I have experience in marking and moderating exam papers for AQA, so I can teach exam technique to optimise grades.
ABOUT LESSONS:
Lessons are tailored to the needs of the student however all lessons consist of the same key features:
- Short starter quiz - to recall learning from the previous sessions.
- Lots of active recall questions - to check for understanding throughout the session.
- Model examples
- Exam-style questions (from AQA resource base)
- Homework (optional based on student`s current workload)
- Feedback reports for parents after every major assessment.

Jacob is an extremely helpful and friendly tutor, who is great at explaining harder scientific concepts. I got a 9 in gcse Chemistry and honestly don`t believe i would have got the top grade if not for Jacob`s help. I started tuition with him just 2 weeks before my exam and the progress i made in that time was amazing. He had all the resources I needed to get the grade 9. I definitely recommend him!

We are really pleased with Jacob`s lessons. Jacobs`s teaching style is great for Dylan as he is both reassuring and encouraging. Dylan says he now understands the concepts and content a lot more clearly and thanks to Jacob he has a lot more confidence in his Chemistry. Dylan has only had a few lessons so far but the difference in his Chemistry confidence is already visible. We would highly recommend Jacob.
