I am a fully qualified teacher with over 15 years of experience working in education, including extensive experience in SEND schools, alternative provision settings and mainstream education. Throughout my career, I have supported students from KS1-KS5, helping learners of all abilities build confidence, overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

I specialise in KS1-KS4 English and Maths, as well as GCSE and A-Level Religious Studies. As an experienced AQA Examiner, I have a strong understanding of assessment criteria and examination requirements, enabling me to help students develop effective exam techniques and maximise their grades.

I have extensive experience supporting SEND, SEMH, EAL and vulnerable learners, including students with dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism (ASD), ADHD, OCD, speech and language needs, social communication difficulties, sensory impairments and physical disabilities. I also have significant experience supporting students experiencing EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance), those accessing alternative provision and homeschooled learners.

I understand that every child learns differently. My approach is calm, patient and highly personalised, ensuring lessons are adapted to each student`s individual needs, learning style and goals. I focus on building confidence, strengthening subject knowledge and developing independent learning skills in a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

Through personalised tuition, targeted interventions and effective revision strategies, many of my students improve by at least one grade within 12 weeks.

Experience: I have over 15 years of experience working in education in a variety of roles, including Teaching Assistant, SEND Mentor, Religious Education Teacher, Programme Manager, AQA Examiner and Private Tutor.

I have taught and supported students across KS1–KS5 and have extensive experience delivering personalised tuition in English, Maths and Religious Studies. My work includes supporting students preparing for GCSE examinations across AQA, OCR and Edexcel exam boards, as well as helping younger learners develop strong foundations in literacy and numeracy.

Throughout my career, I have worked closely with SEND, SEMH, EAL and vulnerable learners, adapting teaching approaches to remove barriers to learning and promote academic success. I have particular expertise in supporting students with additional needs, teaching phonics, improving reading confidence and developing tailored learning programmes that support both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.

I have extensive experience supporting students in alternative provision, those who are homeschooled and learners experiencing EBSA. By working closely with families, schools and other professionals, I help students re-engage with learning, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes.

As an AQA Examiner, I have valuable insight into marking criteria, assessment objectives and examination expectations. This enables me to provide students with targeted feedback, effective revision strategies and practical exam techniques that help them perform with confidence.
