Bonjour!
Je m`appelle Alain. Je suis Français.

I have been living in the UK since 1992 with a couple of spells in my home country.
I studied there and I studied here.
I worked there and I worked here. I still do...

After lecturing in French at Aston University (Birmingham) for a while and a first career as Commercial Surveyor for a French construction company in Birmingham, I joined the world`s third largest construction company in its headquarters just outside of Paris, where I was their cladding specialist for France.

After a while, I had enough of the construction industry and decided it was no longer my "tasse de thé", so I came back to the UK and set myself up as a French tutor.
This is what I have been up to for the last 10 years... and I love it!

I have a passion for my country and its language, which I love sharing with others.

I enjoy the variety in my work: helping GCSE and ALevel pupils achieve better grades than they ever could imagine themselves able to, running adult conversation groups where we have fun around a coffee chitchatting about all sorts and helping corporate clients/professionals increase their earning potential or the level of service they provide by running in-house industry specific courses.

I also provide translation services.

Availability: I am available daily for tuition, Monday-Friday.
Evenings are tricky though, as lots of people want a piece of me, including my own family... If you`re free during the day it would be useful.
I run conversation groups for adults every weekday at set times. I will not be available for tuition then, but you`re more than welcome to join us...
I am all set up for tuition through Skype as well.
