Douglas

My name is Douglas and I am a recent graduate of Oxford University where I read English Literature and Language. I am a funny, engaging and motivating tutor committed to achieving the very best with each student.
I have over 350 hours of tutoring experience in a mixture of schools and private lessons. My students include those wanting to firm up an A* and those wanting to get a pass. I am always punctual and ensure challenging, rewarding lessons that encompass not only everything required on the syllabus, but also a little bit extra to provide a more total, holistic education in English Literature. I encourage students to come up with their own interpretations and relate the ideas within texts to their own lives.

I have known Douglas for about a year, as he is tutoring my son for GCSE English.

I have always found him to be punctual, reliable and passionate about his subject. After the first session, my son had a renewed interest in English, which then developed into him actually starting to enjoy English, which was such a pleasure. His teachers also report a marked increase in his abilities in class and with the homework.
