I originally qualified as a pe teacher but due to having achieved an A level in maths I transferred departments after 3 years of teaching. Being an ex pe teacher I have the ability to build rapport, confidence and enjoyment which is half the battle.

In addition to the above I believe that my success in teaching pupils comes from experience, knowing which topics to focus on and which topics to link together.

Also, to often teachers are guilty of doing topic after topic without checking if pupils have forgotten information. I pride myself on knowing when to recap topics and when to move on to optimise learning.

Availability: Mon - Thurs after 4pm, Saturday and Sunday mornings

Experience: I have worked in Stoke on trent secondary school for 17 years. In this time I have predominantly taught borderline classes which mainly comprise of pupils who struggle with maths and fear they are not going to pass. This gives me a great understanding of what is needed to pass the mathematics gcse. I have tutored 20+ pupils over the years and I`m very proud of my track record.
